Questions?
We’ve got you covered.

  • While this is not required, we prefer to have a doctor’s referral to ensure that any possible medical problems have been investigated and so we can communicate our assessment findings and treatment plan with your doctor. Referral forms are available here.

  • Call us at 416.697.1002 to schedule an appointment. You can also book online.

  • Your initial new patient assessment costs $180 and includes 90 minutes with the physiotherapist who will complete a full assessment and start you on your treatment program. Follow up visits cost $130 and include 60 minutes of individualized treatment.

  • We ask for payments by credit card or debit. You will pay at the time of your appointment. We will provide you with a receipt for the physiotherapy visit.

  • Please let us know as soon as possible if you are not able to make your appointment. We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no shows are billed the full amount.

  • Most extended health insurance plans cover physiotherapy visits. Please check with your insurance company to ensure you have coverage. Some insurance plans require you to have a doctor’s referral first - please check with your insurance company.

  • At this time we are unable to do this. You will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • No. Please refer to the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario for information about how to access publicly funded physiotherapy.

  • Initial assessments are 90 minutes and follow up visits are 60 minutes.

  • Your physiotherapist will be able to answer this question after your initial assessment, because the number of sessions required and how often visits should occur will depend on the stage of your recovery. If you are in the early flaccid stage, where there is no movement, you may only need one session to provide you education on nerve injuries and nerve recovery. We also educate on eye care, improving symmetry of the face, improving circulation, advice on eating, drinking and speech and ensuring that the other side does not over compensate. Therapy sessions will become more frequent once you see the first signs of tone returning to the face. Sessions may be around 4 weeks apart initially.

  • You will be asked to complete some online questionnaires prior to your appointment. When meeting the physiotherapist in person, we will first spend some time listening and talking with you to get a good understanding of your symptoms and goals. We want to understand your expectations and set clear goals for therapy based on your priorities. We will do a very thorough assessment of your facial muscle function, looking at the symmetry of your face, looking at movements and expressions. This includes photos and videos to track your recovery. Assessment also involves an intraoral exam to assess the tone in the muscles. The physiotherapist will talk with you about what they found in their assessment and what the best plan is to help you. They will get you started on your treatment program, which usually involves strategies to manage your symptoms and exercises to do at home.
